Owner
I live in England, just north of London, with my husband and two teenage children. We have our own business in Geographic Information Systems which takes us all over the world.
I grew up in Newcastleton so it is great now to own a holiday home in the village so that we can still keep in touch with family and friends. It is in a beautiful area surrounded by rolling hills so there are lots of opportunities for walking and other outdoor pursuits. We love to go there just to relax and unwind.
Newcastleton is famous for its annual traditional music festival and its alternative “Common Riding” (both held in first weekend of July). There is also a world-famous mountain biking course in the forest just behind the village, with tracks to suit all abilities.
Staffin is in an excellent location for visiting Edinburgh and Glasgow (both under 2 hours drive), the English Lake District, Northumbria (beautiful beaches, Alnwick Castle), Kielder Reservoir (numerous activities incl. water sports), and of course the famous abbeys of the Scottish Borders.

House Keeper
I am Carol, the housekeeper of Staffin. I will make sure your stay in the cottage is as perfect as possible so please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have a problem or you would like some advice about the village.
I have lived in Newcastleton for 30 years & love living here. The village is very friendly, & although a small community we are very lucky to have our two lovely cafes, hotels, a butchers & well stocked village shop. There are lots of lovely walks around the village & plenty to see & do, both locally & further afield. I hope you enjoy your stay at Staffin & our lovely village.
